Meet the OGU GfA Committee
Justin Hayes (AUS) – Chair
Justin is an Innovative Business Development Leader with a range of experiences in the Sporting and Not for Profit Sectors. With over 20 years of work within the Gymnastics for All space, he has connected people all over the world through sporting life experiences, and promoted Australian gymnastics and culture at every opportunity.
Justin is currently a board member for the NSW Combat Sports Authority as well as the NSW Gymnastics Development Manager for the Police Citizens Youth Clubs NSW. He is also a Technical Director for the Gymnastics Australia GfA Technical Commission and the Founder and Co-ordinator of the Ollerup / PCYC Gymnastics Exchange Program
Justin is passionate about the growth and development of Gymnastics for All programs, and providing life experience opportunities for people. He feels that there is an exciting opportunity to offer to disadvantaged communities throughout the pacific region (Australia included) which may help to break generational cycles of poverty and disadvantage, if only through education and awareness.
Naomi Nye (AUS) – Project Coordinator for FreeG
Naomi is currently the Gymsports Director at Woden Valley Gymnastics Club in Canberra, Australia. Although a large Club with many competitive programs, the Club also offers a diverse number of programs that allow for participation and inclusion across all ages, abilities, and cultures.
Naomi joins the OGU team with decades of experience in the sport as a parent, participant, coach, administrator, presenter, and assessor. She believes a strong focus on the development of safe, fun, beneficial programs, resources, and coaches allows for growth in the sport and long-term engagement.
Petrina Hutchinson (AUS) – Project Coordinator for Performance & World Gymnaestrada
Petrina Hutchinson spent her childhood hanging upside down and cartwheeling to the shops. With a B.Ed in Dance & PE adding to coaching accreditations across a range of gymsports, over the course of twenty-five years Petrina worked for Gymnastics Victoria then Gymnastics Australia to develop Gymnastics for All.
Petrina has managed the Australian World Gymnaestrada Teams since 2007 and has been an Evaluator and Feedbacker for the FIG at two World Gym for Life Challenges. Petrina has presented coaching courses and workshops on Gymnastics for All across Australia and internationally.
She is currently the Head Coach at Spaghetti Circus and a member of the OGU GfA Committee. Petrina will be working to get as many people from Oceania as possible at the World Gymnaestrada in Amsterdam 2023.
Rachel Harvey (NZL) – Project Coordinator for TeamGym
Rachel has been involved in gymnastics as a gymnast, coach, administrator and judge across many gymsports. She is a current member of both the NZ GFA Sport Development Committee and the Aerobic Gymnastics Technical Committee. She is passionate about sharing the joy of achievement, confidence and collaboration that gymnastics offers to participants of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. She truly believes gymnastics is for all and has something to offer everyone.
She has a lifelong passion for gymnastics through participating at two Pacific Gymfests, coaching GfA for all ages and levels, attending Gymnastik I Ollerup in Denmark, coaching and participating in World Gymnastraeda and Masters Games, and gaining her FIG qualification in aerobic gymnastics to name a few highlights.
